Performs a variety of complex legal and administrative duties in support of operational, financial, and regulatory matters, strategic planning and business development. Provides legal guidance on health care regulations, compliance, subrogation, and vendor and provider agreements.
Drafts, edits, reviews, and approves contracts to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Prepares documents to be submitted to the State of Wyoming and Federal administrative agencies as may be appropriate and responds to inquiries regarding submitted documents.
Coordinates regulatory compliance activities across departments in order to maintain effective communication and ensure legal compliance.
Responds to inquiries and concerns related to HIPAA, providing information and assistance to resolve issues.
Gathers information and researches legislation in order to advise management of issues and developments related to the healthcare industry.
Confers with outside legal counsel as needed to ensure appropriate legal representation for the organization.
Drafts and edits policies and procedures to maintain up-to-date, accurate and compliant documentation.
Assists with legal issues that arise in Strategic Marketing and Human Resources departments.
Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare industry and expertise in related legislation
Knowledge of legal terminology, documentation and contracts
Demonstrated ability to exercise excellent judgment when engaged in complex decision-making
Demonstrated ability to complete work with accuracy, attention to detail, and in a timely manner
Solid written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate and interact with all levels of personnel
Basic knowledge of general employment law
Responsible for compliance, subrogation, and department budget.
Supervises compliance, internal audit, contract administration and subrogation functions. Responsible for assigning and scheduling work, training, appraising performance, promotions/transfers, interviewing and hiring, disciplinary discussions and terminations. Makes recommendations on salary.
Other duties as assigned.
Juris Doctorate and minimum of four (4) years experience in healthcare or insurance field required. Must be licensed in the State of Wyoming or be eligible for admission in Wyoming.
